The Story
In 2016, driven by a shared vision, faith in God, and a strong desire to prosper in Honduras, the venture of Finca Liquidámbar began with four partners — all members of the same family. Each was dedicated to different activities and motivated to invest in the land, planting Parainema. The first formal harvest came in 2020, just as the pandemic began. By 2021, production had doubled and they entered the Cup of Excellence — finishing top 30 in 2023. Today a significant portion of their coffee is exported to the United States and Taiwan. The name Liquidámbar is taken from a beautiful tree in the area whose golden color resembles fine specialty coffee.

In their words
What do you love about specialty coffee?
“It allows for a more personalized relationship with customers — finding profiles that best match their preferences and highlighting the quality of the coffee.”
Which processing method do you prefer?
“I love working with Parainema — a Honduran variety that highlights our country, resilient and rewarding. The process that earned our coffee its classification was the washed method, but both washed and honey result in excellent coffee.”
Plans for the future?
“In the short term, to have the entire operation set up at the farm — processing, drying, storage. In the long term, to be part of an ecotourism and educational project for the communities.”
